Judicial Interpreting

As the Sole Member of ScissorTail Interpreting, Jacob Alexander is the primary provider of ASL/English interpreting services. One of the areas in which he works is judicial interpreting, primarily for Oklahoma District Courts.

Jake is a Certified Sign Language Interpreter with the Supreme Court of the State of Oklahoma (CCI # 21004). 

He also holds the Texas Board for the Evaluation of Interpreters Court Interpreter Certificate, the only skills based legal interpreting certification currently offered in the United States, and is currently recognized by multiple state judiciaries. 

In addition to Oklahoma and Texas, Jake holds credentials to work in the courts of Arkansas and Arizona, and meets the requirements to work in many others. 

Since beginning court work in summer of 2021, Jake has made over 50 court interpreting appearances as of Spring 2023.

Services can be provided locally in Oklahoma, remotely via video conferencing, or on-location with travel.
