Jake is the Sole Member of ScissorTail Interpreting, LLC, a native of Oklahoma, and has been professionally interpreting since 2013.


He previously worked in Special Education coordination and administration before moving to interpreting full time. 


Jake is an accomplished generalist in healthcare, video relay, and other community settings such as social services. His specialized experience centers around platform interpreting, including conference, business, media, and legal interpreting.

He also presents professionally at the local and state levels on topics related to interpreting, and education for Deaf students.

"My interpreting philosophy centers on creating mutual understanding in a way that feels natural within each participant's cultural and linguistic context, and facilitates authentic relationships between the Deaf and hearing communities."
